Brazil Surprises the world with some true "Masters" and a "King": Pele!

No one involved with the World Cup will ever forget the period between June 8 and 29, 1958. Fifth-three countries registered with FIFA for the Cup and all the continents would be represented. Only Cyprus, Turkey, and Venezuela abstained. It was to be the greatest "Jules Rimet" Cup ever. For the First time, the USSR would take part. Unfortunately, Jules Rimet, the Father of the Cup, who had died on October 16, 1956, in Paris, at age of 83, would not see this great event that he had inspired.

FIFA WORLD CUP 1954

Switzerland was not greatly affected by the war. Its economy was intact, and the Swiss had a good stadiums that could be enlarged. It had played 2 good games in the Cup, once in 1938 against Germany, and in 1950 against Brazil.

It had all the necessary credential to be chosen by FIFA to hold the Fifth World Cup.

FIFA WORLD CUP 1950

Between the Cup in 1938 and the Cup in 1950, there had been a World War. FIFA was headquartered in Paris and Jules Rimet knew that Adolf Hitler had still not forgotten the humiliation of the German team during the previous two World Cups. He also knew that Hitler wanted FIFA in Berlin. What did Rimet do? Both he and FIFA moved to Switzerland, where FIFA is today.

DRIBBLING AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE 1ST ATTACKER

The youth coach should focus on player development which is greatly dependent upon the ability to dribble the ball. Of course, there is a place for 1-touch soccer; but there is a greater need for players developing confidence with the ball prior to 1-touch. In order not to kick the ball away mindlessly when there is no available pass, A1 must be must be able to dribble and shield. Every player become the A1 as soon as he/she receive the ball, very player, even the goalie, needs to develop dribbling skill. Exciting dribbling,such as a series of 1v1's, is a highlights of the game.

FIFA WORLD CUP 1938

In France, Italy becomes a two-time winner. 

The fear of a World War. 
Spain is absent due to Civil War.
Good soccer from Brazil and Leonidas.
The Hungarians are the runner-up, and Brazil is third.
Leonidas, the "black diamond", scores the greatest number of goals.

August 15, 1936, just after the Olympic games had ended, 40 of ht 54 members at the FIFA Congress at the Kroll Opera, in Berlin, decided to let France host the 3r World Cup. For Jules Rimet, president of FIFA and the French Soccer Federation, this was a great triumph.
